<B>Anti-Alf Landon: One of the Most Popular "Negative" Political Pinbacks.</B></I> The sunflower was the emblem of Kansan Alf Landon's quixotic campaign against FDR, a shoo-in for re-election in 1936. The slogan speaks for itself. In a time when creativity was required to bring the nation out of the Great Depression, the Republican campaign failed to impress the voters, and Landon suffered one of the worst defeats in American political history. <BR><BR>This 2 1/8" button variety is quite rare and always receives spirited bidding.
