DS, eleven pages, 8.5 x 11, August 23, 1961. Employment agreement between Quinn and Transocean Pictures in which he agrees to “render his services in the role of Auda in connection with the photoplay tentatively entitled Lawrence of Arabia.” The document specifies that Quinn “shall report to the Corporation at the foreign location in Jordan…to familiarize himself with local customs and conditions and with his role in the picture, to learn to ride a camel and for any other purpose connected with his part in the picture.” It also provides flexibility for him to complete his role “in connection with the principal photography of Requiem for a Heavyweight.” In fine condition. Quinn played the role of Auda Abu Tayi, the leader of the powerful local Howeitat tribe, who aligns himself with T. E. Lawrence in the Arab revolt. He relished the part, insisting on applying his own makeup to maintain historical accuracy and at one time even being mistaken for a local tribesman.
