This cartridge Belt made for Anson Mills was made by T.C. Orndoff. Marked "Anson Mills Pat. Feb. 1. 1881./T.C. Orndoff Sole Manf./ Worchester, Mass./ U.S.A.". The belt is cotton canvas without any trace lines, 50 loops for .45-70 cartridges 3 3/8 in. wide, dog-head design. Likey a 4th design for civilian sales. In unused condition with loops still firm. These cartridge belts were originally made for the US Cavalry for the .45-70 Springfield. It was also used by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in the North-West Territory (NWMP). C.1880's.
