Portrait photographer Annie Leibovitz (b. 1949) wrote an introduction and the captions for her black-and-white and color photographs reproduced in the book. Celebrity photos, landscapes, and personal images, including those documenting her relationship with controversial writer-filmmaker Susan Sontag (1933-2004), are included. The half-title page is signed <I>“Annie Lebovitz”</B></I>.
