Original 1972 LP record Annie by Canadian singer Anne Murray, released by Capitol Records under catalog number ST-11024. The front cover features a whimsical illustration of a young girl surrounded by colorful flora and butterflies, with the Earth in the background, while the reverse side presents a black-and-white photo of Murray on a rural farm setting with two calves, highlighting her down-to-earth charm and country roots. The vinyl bears the orange and purple Capitol label and is etched in the dead wax with matrix number ST-1-11024-F8, confirming its pressing. This early 1970s folk-pop album features Side One tracks including "Robbie's Song for Jesus, Callin' Your Name, I Like Your Music, Everything Has Got to Be Free, and Drown Me." Side Two includes "You Can't Have a Hand on Me, You Made My Life a Song, You Can't Go Back, Beautiful, and Everything's Been Changed." Produced and arranged by Brian Ahern, the album showcases Murray's clear, warm vocals and understated emotional delivery, blending country-pop elements with a gentle spiritual and reflective tone. Anne Murray, born in Nova Scotia, rose to fame as one of Canada's most successful pop-country crossover artists. She became the first Canadian female solo singer to reach No. 1 on the U.S. charts and won multiple Grammy and Juno Awards throughout her career. Her smooth contralto voice and heartfelt interpretation of songs helped establish her as a beloved voice in both contemporary pop and country circles through the 1970s and 1980s.
