In Interview magazine in 1975, the US pop artist was asked if he had been to church that day. Yes, he replied; he had popped in. He admitted he took communion sometimes, even though I never feel that I do anything bad. Then, with archetypal Warhol blankness, he added: I think its really pretty to go to church. The church I go to is a pretty church. Executed near the end of his life, the American Pop artist took up the themes of religion and loss that were so key to his work. This lithograph was produced in 1986, and is signed in pencil in the bottom right hand corner by Warhol. Stamped by the Estate on the verso and supplied with a letter from the Estate. The lithograph measures 15x11 inches. Mounted and framed.
