Series 1985 one dollar bill, prominently signed on the front in thick black felt tip by Andy Warhol. In fine condition. Encapsulated in a PSA/DNA authentication holder.

Warhol famously incorporated the iconic imagery of United States currency into his artwork. In the early 1960s, Emile de Antonio had been pressuring Eleanor Ward to give Warhol a show at her Stable Gallery in New York. According to Warhol, the three of them met and, after de Antonio asked Ward if she was going to take Warhol on, she took out a two dollar bill and said, & lsquo;Andy, if you can paint me this, I& rsquo;ll give you a show.& rsquo; Not long after Warhol produced a series of dollar bill paintings and was granted a show in the fall of 1962.
