Andrew Wyeth is one of the best-known American realist painters of the 20th century and sometimes referred to as the "Painter of the People" due to his popularity with the American public. Wyeth's favorite subject is the land and inhabitants around his hometown of Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania and those near his summer home in Cushing Maine. Wyeth is the recipient of numerous awards and in 1976 became the first native born living American to receive a retrospective exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum in New York.
This world famous, contemporary realist painter is very well known for ?Christina?s World?, a portrayal of a handicapped woman lying along the hillside of a field. The view is immensely serene and poetic with its display of earthly colors and remarkable rendering. The immensity of the warm golden grass gives the work a stability and a softness, which honorably supports its subject, Christina.

To further enhance Wyeth?s brilliant work, this print is exquisitely framed in a complimentary double mat of the same hues forming a perfect marriage with an incomparable, expensive, high quality white wash ribbon pattern frame by Le Chateau?s very own renowned framer Jeanette Schoenrock measuring a total of 25?x 22.5?.
