Andrew Wyeth. American painter. Boxed p
Andrew Wyeth. American painter. Boxed portfolio "Four Seasons," 1962, comprising twelve prints made from the plates of the originals and never exhibited before then. Selected by Wyeth and his wife for this issue, published by Art in America. These dozen selections, including landscapes, a chair, rowboat, a neighbor in the sun, and others, all executed with his dry brush technique on heavy paper, showing extraordinary detail. A three page preface by L. Goodrich, Director of Whitney Museum. All 13 x 17, suitable for framing. With original folder and box. Lining of box shows edge toning and wear, prints very fine. Original Cartoons by Eric Ericson of the "New Yorker". One of the premier cartoonists of the New Yorker and other "highbrow" magazines of the 1940s and 1950s. His style - and humor - immediately recognizable to millions. We offer these original cartoons, each in pencil on white paper, and signed when drawn. The cartoonist's name and address rubber-stamped on verso of each. 81/2 x 11. These cartoons were usually printed directly from these original sketches, the only change being the typesetting of Ericson's hand-lettered captions. A master of the pencilled line, Ericson was able to achieve with a single pencil, a whole palette of effects. Some of these cartoons may seem recognizable from their titles alone, such was their ascension into the annals of humor.
