Andrew McCutchen's game-used rookie-era circa 2008 Louisville Slugger C271 personal model baseball bat, engraved on the barrel with his name and team ("Andrew McCutchen, Pittsburgh Pirates"), and signed in gold ink. The black ash bat measures 33.75˝ long and weighs 30 ounces. It is uncracked and exhibits excellent signs of use, including slight checking from repeated ball contact, marks and ball stitch impressions on all sides of the barrel, and a light coat of pine tar on the handle. Accompanied by a letter of grading and authenticity from PSA/DNA, grading it as "PSA/DNA GU 9," noting that the bat was evidently manufactured for McCutchen while on the Pirates' 40-man roster in 2008. Although he spent the full season with the AAA Indianapolis Indians, he was with the Pirates for spring training and also played in the 2008 Futures Game at Yankee Stadium; it is possible that he used the bat during his 2009 Major League rookie campaign. McCutchen would prove to be Pittsburgh's best player of the decade, taking home National League MVP honors in 2013, making five All-Star teams, and earning four Silver Sluggers.
