Partly-printed DS, signed “Andrew Jackson,” one page, 13.5 x 17.5, March 5, 1835. President Jackson appoints Edmund Schriver a “Second Lieutenant in the Second Regiment of Artillery.” Signed at the conclusion by Jackson, and countersigned by Secretary of War Lewis Cass. In very good condition, with intersecting folds, a couple through single letters of signature, uniform toning, and a bit of scattered light foxing. Document also bears an unusual square War Office paper seal affixed with red wax. Jackson’s signature is bold and prominent, measuring almost six inches long.
