Land indenture document twice-signed by Andrew Hamilton dated 9 December 1737 in Philadelphia. With two endorsements by Hamilton on the verso as one of His Majesty's Justices of the Peace. Uncle of the Treasury Secretary, Andrew Hamilton is best known for his legal victory on behalf of publisher John Zenger in his free speech trial. Auction records show the last Andrew Hamilton signed document selling in 1992 for more than $1,500. Single page vellum document measures 27'' x 16''. Heavy folds and expected wear, otherwise very good.
