Ornate printed menu, 10.75 x 15, two pages for a dinner in Carnegie’s honor by the Lotus Club in new York, on March 17, 1909. Colorfully printed in calligraphy on the front cover, “Dinner to Andrew / Carnegie by the Lotos Club,” inside bears printed drawings, by artist Thomas Sindelar, of Carnegie fishing and playing golf, a ‘tariff’ political cartoon about Carnegie, his homes, a bagpipe player, and steel mills. Also inside is a 3.75 x 5 bust portrait of Carnegie which has been tipped to a 4.25 x 6 swatch of plaid cloth which has been affixed to the left portion of the insert reserved for a photograph of the honoree. Signed inside in pencil by Carnegie. In fine condition, with scattered creasing, toning, and handling wear to covers, with inside mostly unaffected by the flaws.
