Signed and inscribed on the second free end page, “His Excellency Kang Yu Wei, With regards, Andrew Carnegie, New York, April 25, 1907.” In very good condition, with a pencil notation to signed page, pencil notes on first and last free end page as well as back pastedown some light staining to fore-edges, and light wear, moderate soiling and rubbing to covers and spine. Wei (1858–1927) was a Chinese scholar, noted calligrapher and prominent political thinker and reformer of the late Qing Dynasty.
