In part: “I have had the honor to receive the invitation of the Society of the Army of the Potomac to their annual re-union…and while returning my thanks for the honor done me, must express my regret about [not] being able to be present.” In fine condition, with scattered light wrinkling and creasing, slightly affecting signature.
