Rare souvenir program guide and yearbook documenting the 1947-48 season of the Anderson Packers professional basketball team, 6 x 9, signed and inscribed on the first page by the cartoonist creator, "To my Best girl Rachel, Paul M. Sharpe." The guide features comic book-style depictions of the Packers' players, with captions about their lives and contributions to the team. In fine condition. Based in Anderson, Indiana, the Packers played in the National Basketball League from 1946 to 1949, then moved into the National Basketball Association for the 1949–50 season. The franchise withdrew from the NBA after the season, and moved to the National Professional Basketball League for one more year before dissolving completely. This is a seminal relic from the earliest days of the professional game, presented in fine original condition.
