And They Thought We Couldn't Fight (Lot of 7) And They Thought We Couldn't Fight
And They Thought We Couldn't Fight (Lot of 7)- 4-(40" x 30") and 3-(30" x 20"). Artist: Clyde Forsythe. Issued for the fifth and final Liberty Loan, known as the Victory Liberty Loan, this poster was printed in the two sizes seen here. It is a common poster in terms of abundance in extant collections, however, the image is one which no collector should be without. The soldier is smiling, perhaps even laughing as he holds the helmets of his fallen Hun enemies. Very few posters showed direct conflict in their graphics, and this one does follow that rule, while the idea behind the image is very violent and boastful. A fantastic piece of propaganda for any collection!

Condition:
Posters 1-3 Fine; minor tears, edges heavily worn from storage, some dirt staining.
Poster 4-Fine, minor tears, edges mildly worn from storage, adhesive on back needs removal.
Poster 5-Superior; adhesive stickers need removal from back.
Poster 6-Superior; fantastic!
Poster 7-Good; major tear into graphic, paper slightly yellowed and brittle, some water damage stains.
