A true masterpiece of Greek numismatic art. According to myth, the giant Talos was formed by Hephaistos out of bronze in order to serve king Minos to guard the island of Crete. The beast circled the island three times daily and kept away all passing ships with a hail of stones, and anyone so unfortunate to be captured by him suffered the most horrible fate, roasting to death as the monster heated himself until white hot while clasping his prey in his arms. Telos was killed by the Argonauts with the aid of a charm produced by Medeia.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
