This ancient stone bowl is dating to the 2nd -3rd Century, was unearthed in Asia, Northern India. This is one of the first and the earliest examples of Brahmi Script on a vessel ever found in India especially when they can be deciphered and read. Brahmi script is one of the oldest writing systems used in Ancient India and present South and Central Asia from the 1st millennium BCE. There are also a series of strange carvings on the outer surface of the bowl which depicts Ancient Vim?na's / Flying Crafts. A vimana is a word with several meanings ranging from temple or palace to mythological flying machines described in Sanskrit epics. References to these flying machines are commonplace in ancient Indian texts, even describing their use in warfare. Dimension: 154 mm. x 71 mm. x 8 mm. (Without Lid) 154 mm. x 126 mm. x 8 mm. RESERVE or MINIMUM PRICES: If a lot is offered subject to a reserve or minimum price (the confidential minimum price below which the lot will not be sold), the Auctioneer may implement such reserve by bidding on behalf of the consignor, whether by opening bidding or continuing bidding until the reserve is obtained, or by placing consecutive bids, or bids in response to other bidders.
4. BIDDING: The Auction House reserves the right to reject a bid from any bidder. The highest bidder acknowledged by the Auctioneer shall be the purchaser. In the event of any dispute between bidders the Auctioneer shall have sole and final discretion to determine the successful bidder or to reopen bidding.
