A modern ring set with an ancient bronze artifact from the Luristan region of western Persia. The accompanying certificate of authenticity describes the piece as a bronze finger ring from Luristan, dating approximately 1200-700 B.C., using the term to refer broadly to small bronze ornaments and fittings excavated from the area. These artifacts reflect the skill of Luristan metalworkers who crafted decorative and functional objects for a warrior society. The ancient bronze element is now mounted in silver-toned metal ring with gold-toned accents. While the mount is of later origin, the inset bronze component represents an artifact from the Bronze Age, combining early Persian craftsmanship with a modern presentation. Weight: 16 g. Estate of Charles H. McCollister, a world traveler known for his connections with notable figures.
