Obv: Architectural temple in centre, trident-battle axe standard to right, Brahmi legend Mahadevasa above, Odubarisa to left. Rev: Ficus tree in a railing, forepart of elephant to right, Kharoshthi legend Mahadevasa above and Rudradasasa to left.

Extremely fine, Very rare.

The grammarian Panini knew Audumbaras and included them into a high caste Kshatriya group. Their coins are known mainly from the Himachal Pradesh foothills between Sirmaur and Chamba. They are bi-scriptural, and mention names of kings appended with their tribal appellation.
