Ancient India: Satavahanas - silver portrait type drachm of Gotamiputa Siri Yajna Satakani (c.155-180 AD), PAIC 2758, 2.25g. Obv: bust of king with frizzled hair-style and heavy ear-plugs, wearing a high head ornament (Shiromani), Brahmi legend (Raño) Gotamiputasa Siri Yaña….to right and around. Rev: Satavahana dynastic emblem, composed of six-arched hill with crescent, modified Ujjain symbol, a wavy line, and sun; Southern Brahmi legend …ku Gotamiputaku Hiru… around.

Extremely fine, Rare.

The position of the hill and 'Ujjain' symbol in the dynastic emblem is reversed as compared to the more commonly seen placement. Coins with hill to left and 'Ujjain' symbol to right are much rarer.
