Satavahanas - copper unit of Siri Satakani (c.100-50 BC), 'elephant' type, Western Malwa/Lower Narmada Valley, PAIC 2572, 7.08g. Obv: Elephant with trunk raised facing left, traces of Brahmi legend above. Rev: 'Ujjain' symbol with one orb modified as a Nandipada, countermarked by a rectangular 'lion jumping to left' device.

Very fine, Rare.

The countermark on the reverse most likely suggests a takeover of the West Malwa region after a short-lived Satavahana rule.
