Coins of Maharathis of the 'Hathi' family were first discovered in excavations at Veerapuram. The Hathi Maharathis, pertinently for their name, struck coins in the elephant type. One coin of Siva Mahahathi was published in the excavation report and it remains the only coin reported so far.
