Pre-Gupta Central India, King Shridhara Varma (300-350 AD), 'Garuda' type copper coin, 1.84g. Obv: Anthropoid Garuda running to right. Rev: Garuda seated cross-legged in centre, brahmi legend Maharajadhiraja Shridhara varma visible in parts, around. Unpublished in major sources.

Very fine+, Extremely rare.

Shridhara Varma is known from his inscriptions at Eran and Kanakhera in Central India. He is described to be of 'Shaka' race in the inscriptions. It is possible that he was related to the Western Kshatrapas of Gujarat. His coins are very rare and struck in the same weight range as the Nagas of Padmavati.
