Post-Mauryan tribal republics, Yaudheyas, copper coin struck in the name of 'Brahmanya Deva' as titular deity of the clan, (50 BC-50 AD), similar to MIGIS type 945, 9.43g. Obv: Karttikeya standing facing holding a javelin, with hand on hip, partly visible; traces of brahmi legend to right. Rev: Deer facing right, an architectural structure (temple) above its back.

Very fine, Very rare

This coin is double struck on both sides so the motifs appeared partly obliterated by the same device struck twice. The temple-like structure is a unique addition to the symbolism associated with the deer seen only on Yaudheya coins.
