Pandyas - silver punch marked coin of ½ karshapana standard, (c.200-100 BC), PAIC 3158, 1.09g. Obv: four punches: 6 -arm symbol, tree, Stupa/arched hill, railed trident. Rev: stylized representation of a fish (Pandyan heraldic symbol).

Good very fine, Very rare.

Similar coins have been reported from the Bodinayakanur hoard. They are the earliest examples of a localized currency with dynastic affiliation from the ancient Tamilakkam.
