The name 'Rajanya' denotes the Kshatriya varna and most likely the Rajanyas were one of the martial communities of Ancient India. Their habitational area was Northwest Punjab. Many ancient Indian texts, like the Kashika, and the grammar of Panini, make a direct reference to the Rajanyas.
