Ancient Malwa - post-Mauryan uninscribed die-struck copper coin of Ujjain/Maheshwar area, (c.250-200 BC), not listed but similar to PAIC 736, 3.84g. Obv: Horse walking to right, tree-in-railing to left and river below; a bold battle-axe standard to right. Rev: 'Ujjain' symbol without dots in orbs.

Extremely fine, Very rare.

The depiction of 'battle axe standard' is unique to this very rare type of the so-called 'Ujjain' series.
