Ancient Eastern Malwa, Dashārna area - uninscribed punch-marked copper coin of Erikachha city state, Betwa valley (200-150 BC), not listed in Pieper or MAC, 5.13g. Obv: five punches - 1x six arched hill with river and fishes below, 1x ornamental Srivatsa, 1x tree-in-railing, 1x palm-tree in railing, 1x triangle headed standard in railing. Rev: traces of 'Ujjain’ symbol, struck with a die and then punched over with two six-armed symbols and a sun symbol.

About extremely fine, Rare.

Although the coin is not inscribed, its attribution to Erikachha is certain through its symbolic configuration, fabric and typology. It is struck in an unusual manner, combining die-striking and punch-marking techniques.
