In Ancient Greece, the hemidrachm, also known as the Triobol, was worth three obols - a drachma was worth six obols. The obverse typically features Goroneion, the head of Medusa, which was a common protective symbol in ancient Greek coinage. The reverse usually depicts a bull, possibly symbolizing strength, fertility, or connections to religious worship in the region. This coin was minted in the city of Parion, located in Mysia (now modern-day Turkey). Mysia was a contested region, influenced by Green, Persian, and later Macedonian rule under Alexander the Great and his successors.
