"Striding Amenhotep III" The above listed item is from the New Kingdom Period,18th Dynasty(1386-1349 B.C.E.). This "Striding Amenhotep III" is made from Black Heavy Granite . He is depicted here with arms to his side, wearing a royal headdress with a Sekhmet head and kilt. On The Back of the statue there are many visible hieroglyphics That says 3 sentences which are Raa God of Gudge, Raa Son of Nep and IMN which means AMON God This fragment piece is mostly intact and has age wear. The reason for the item being available is due to the vast extent of archeological findings, thousands of years in Egyptian burials and also the proliferation of these said items in older private collections worldwide. "Amenhotep III " Amenhotep III was a prolific builder and a relatively benevolent ruler. His reign lasted almost 40 years and was both stable and prosperous. He took the throne of Egypt at the early age of 12. Amenhotep built many splendid temples and statuary, including many large lifelike statues of himself. One of Amenhotep III's greatest building achievements wasthe Temple of Amun, now in modern day Luxor. His great-grandfather was Thutmosis III. His parents were Thutmosis IV and Queen Mutemwiya. He had many wives, one chief wife was Tiy, daughter of Yuya and Tuya (whose mummies are among the best preserved in Egypt).
