Isis: The above listed item is from the New Kingdom Period(1539-1075B.C.E.). This fragment of Isis is genuine, unique to style and form dated to the latter part of the New Kingdom Period. Even though she's a fragment of a larger piece it does not detract from her venerable beauty! It's very large, has age wear, also has areas of crystaline. A very rare and exquisite find! Isis was the goddess of love, magic, motherhood, children, medicine and peace. Isis was the daughter of Nuit, goddess of the sky and Seb god of the earth. She married Osiris who was her brother and she became mother to Horus. Like the goddess Hathor, she was depicted wearing a throne with the sun disc or two cow-horns and a cobra. The reason for the item being available is due to the vast extent of old archeological findings, thousands of years in Egyptian burials and also the proliferation of these said items in private collections worldwide.
