Ancient Egyptian" Striding Ramses II Fragment "

The above listed item is from the New Kingdom Period,(1539-1075 B.C.E.). This "Real Black granite Striding Ramses II" is made from Black granite He is wearing a royal headdress and has a faintly visible cartouche on the back. There is a row of faintly visible hieroglyphics on reverse. The piece is intact for a fragment and has age wear. The reason for the item being available is due to the vast extent of archeological findings, thousands of years in Egyptian burials and also the proliferation of these said items in older private collections worldwide.

"Ramses II (The Great)"

Son of Seti Ist he was the 3d king of the 19th Dynasty. Almost mythical in proportion to earlier Egyptian Pharaohs, this ruler was vain as well as, responsible for a ressurgence in the way of earlier New Kingdom traditions, customs and the upholding of the Egyptian monarchy. Known for his massive building of temples and other structural endeavors, he is also responsible for maintainence of secure borders, military, infrastructure and the prosperous commerce of Egypt. He was attributed to being the Biblical Pharaoh of the Exodus and Moses. Ramses the Great ruled Egypt for 66 years and his decendants numbered in the hundreds. During his rule, he was the only Pharaoh that had his visage duplicated in an almost factory style assembly line!
