Ancient Chinese silver alloy mirror dating to early Tang period. The obverse is decorated in the central round panel with 8 mythological animals 4 of them are paired. There are 3 circular bands, the central one being the narrowest and decorated with ornamental scrols. The outer circular band is decorated with an elaborate ornamental scroll alternating with gilded crossed-out oval. All the mythological creatures and 8 round spikes surrounding the central knob are heavily gilded. This is a funerary bronze mirrors represented by pair of 4 animals. In Chinese customs tse (character for 4, represents the death). Estimated value: $2.000.
