Her sexually explicit journals and correspondence with Henry Miller led to her popular resurgence in the 1970s as a feminist icon and a literary figure of the avant-garde. Four hardcover books: a first edition of The Diary of Anais Nin, Volume Two, signed and inscribed on the first free end page, “For Hilda Kassell, Anais Nin”; a first edition of The Diary of Anais Nin, Volume Three, signed the first free end page by Nin; a first edition copy of The Diary of Anais Nin, Volume Four, signed and inscribed on the first free end page, “For Hilda from Anais”; and a first edition copy of the Anais Nin Reader, signed on a bookplate affixed to the first free end page. In overall very good condition, with light wear to the dustjackets.
