Modernist writer of short stories and novels. Her sexually explicit journals and correspondence with Henry Miller led to her popular resurgence in the 1970s as a feminist icon and a literary figure of the avant-garde. Two hardcover books: a first edition of Under a Glass Bell, signed and inscribed on the first free end page, “For Natalia Arostegui, most sincerely, Anais Nin”; and a first edition of Children of the Albatross, signed on the first free end page by Nin. Glass Bell rates in very good condition, with uniform toning to signed page and inside pages, light soiling to last page and back pastedown, and some light wear to covers. The dustjacket is lightly toned and worn, with some light soiling and edge chipping. Albatross rates fine, with small separation to front hinge, and some light wear, toning, and soiling to dustjacket. RRAuction COA.
