Handwritten letter on stationary from the Moana Hotel, Honolulu, Hawaii postmarked March 6, 1912. Addressed to Charles J. Kelly, Butte, Montana. Kelly by 1911 was vice president of Anaconda Copper, a successful lawyer and politician. The Hennessy Company was a mercantile business in Butte, Montana, that operated in conjunction with the Anaconda Copper Mining Company. Branch stores were later established around the state. Contents of the letter are entertaining: "Keep your eye on Centennial Brewing Co. matters, the bank has a lot of meat in that pot." Signed John, he is cross at the "damn bad, cold and wet," weather in Honolulu.
