A piece of the original Fore Topsail and Bolt Rope (measuring approximately 6½" x 2") from The Victory.
The bolt rope goes around the perimeter of the sail where the clews lines and buntlines are attached, to help haul and secure the sails.
The item is presented in a frame (measuring approximately 19" x 24") and features a drawing sketched by John Green, a well known maritime artist.
The vendor has provided provenance and a complete history of the sail.
