By Okatori, Kyoto, , Early 19th century. One leaf winds around the back of the quail, whose eyes are inlaid in black horn. Signed on the underside of the stem in a raised rectangular reserve, Okatori. 1in (2.5cm). Provenance: Ex Richards collection. Purchased from R. Koscherak, 1957.
