An ivory netsuke of Daruma.
Attributed to Masakazu, Osaka, Early 19th century. Seated cross-legged with his robe pulled together in front and held by his hands which are cradling a large netsuke of Daruma in a similar pose, from which are suspended an ojime and kinchaku, the ojime inlaid in dark red amber, his robe is embellished with Buddhist symbols. Signed on the underside within an oval reserve, Masakazu. 1 5/8in (4cm). Provenance: Sotheby's, New York.
