An ivory netsuke of Busho slaying the tiger.
By Chikuyosai Tomochika 1st, Tokyo, Early 19th century. , Early 19th century. Holding the struggling tiger with one hand, his other with clenched fist raised, the tiger's stripes are so deeply carved that they appear to be in relief, some wear and age cracks, with an old chip to the right foot of Busho.
