Early 19th century. The latter carrying a staff and a biwa, their robes are engraved with various patterns. The subject is a parody on the story of Ikkaku Sennin and the harlot of Benares, the ivory is lightly stained and well-patinated. Unsigned. 2 5/8in (6.6cm). Provenance: Ex Frederick M.
