An important desk with fold-out lateral flaps,
designed and manufactured by Karl Hagenauer, Vienna, around 1935, solid walnut and walnut veneer, the drawers with vertical tubular brass handles, to be used as a freestanding piece of furniture, the back fitted with bookshelfs, height 76.5 cm, width 107 cm, depth 75.5 cm, width 200 cm (with open flaps).
Single-piece work for the architect Anton Gerischer, Vienna 8, Feldgasse 14. From the estate of his household.
According to an information by Karl Hagenauer Junior, this desk was made to measure, according to the wishes of the client. Presumably only two slightly altered variants of this piece were produced.
