An early Wirral Railway cast-iron ticket-dating machine from New Brighton station. An oval “Edmondson’s Knowsley St Cheetham Manchester” motif is cast on the front. 8” front to back; 9” tall. Repainted. NSB. New Brighton, a branch terminus station from the Liverpool-Birkenhead line, opened in 1888. This machine almost certainly dates from its opening.
