An early 19th century mahogany cylinder bureau by T. Willson, 68 Great Queen Street, London having an ogee moulded gallery to the plain flat top with further moulded edge in turn above the cylinder opening to an extremely well fitted interior with forward sliding writing surface having a central gilt tooled green writing surface hinging at the front and with ratchet action, flanked on either side by a further leather panel and fitted behind with a series of short drawers and pigeon holes, one fitted for pens and inkwells and with moulded edge above the kneehole drawer stamped "T. Willson, 68 Great Queen Street, London", flanked on either side by four short drawers, three to each pedestal with wooden knob handles and with rounded corners to the base moulding, the plinth beneath raised on castors. Height 49ins., width 54ins., depth 30ins. (see illustration)
