An early 19th century mahogany bookcase in two sections, the top half with a shaped pediment above a moulded cornice and crossbanded collar with a pair of glazed doors beneath with wooden edging strip, brass escutcheons and enclosing a series of adjustable shelves with silk lined back and flanked by foliate carved corbals, the base having one long bow fronted drawer above a pair of well figured panelled cupboard doors with crossbanded edges, wooden edging strip and brass escutcheons and enclosing shelves also flanked by corbals and with plinth base beneath. Height 96ins., width 49ins., depth 18ins. (see illustration)
