An early 19th century Spode trio decorated in the Imari palette comprising coffee can, tea cup and saucer all decorated with Japanesque fencework, flowers and borders outlined with gilding and having gilt rims, the coffee can and tea cup having a small handle in gilt with a single kick, the saucer marked in red "Spode", numbered 967 with workman mark, circa 1820 (see illustration).
