An early 19th century Spode blue and white platter printed in blue with the gate of Sebastian at Capena or the castle pattern, the gravy reservoir at one end, impressed mark, 52.5cm wide. Leonard Whiter in 'Spode' page 168 says that this design was taken from Merigot's 'Views of Rome and its Vicinities' published 1796-8 £250-350
