An early 19th century Russian (Kolyvan) porphyry marble urn, the tapering urn with acanthus clad base on a waisted socle and square base, the beaded top with associated pineapple finial, 9ins The Kolyvan stone carving factory was commissioned to make diplomatic gifts for the Duke of Wellington amongst others. A large pair of porphyry torcheres are in Apsley house and a tazza reputedly made for the Duke was sold by Sotheby's Olympia lot 436 Fulbeck Hall sale, 8th October 2002. £200-250
